Basic Package:What is the name of the package?

Cost:How much is the package?

turn around:How long does it take to do something:concepts and/or revisions.

Number of Concepts:How many concepts in the package?

Pay for More?:Does the company request additional payments?

Number of Revisions:How many revisions in the package?

Pay for More?:Does the company request additional payments?

Full Review:Has the company offered to be reviewed by us?
In order to clearly identify a products value we offer companies the offer for an independant review of their services. While we accept feedback and personal reviews by those who access our site, in order to be completly fair in our review process we provide companies the option to signup (at their own cost) to be reviewed by us. We provide a complete review of services and the results are provided to both the design company and the public as a whole. It is up to the company to improve their services and be re-reviewed (once per 6 months).

Guarantee?:Does the company provide a guarantee of any kind?

Design Tips

Design Tips

-Brainstorm to determine what you want to convey with the design.
-Being simple is generally better.
-Be unique. Using what other people have will just get your design lost in a sea of graphics.
-Think about fonts. How will they be used, what would look best based on your market.
-The design should be memorable, so that people remember it and it becomes associated with your company.
-The design should be fairly flexible in how it can be used.
-Understand how the design will be used in size and medium.
-Always use with correct aspect ratio (ratio bettween height and width)
-The design should be appropriate for the market or the audience.
-The design does not need to convey what the company does.
-The design should not be restricted to a specific time period, unless your business is for that time period.
-Look for hidden meaning, in either the name or in the logo itself.
-Colour can convey a emotional response - use wisely and do not overpower the senses.
-Colour Symbolism: use of colour to associate with something - for example, in north america, red could mean stop,
danger, romance, love - however depends on specific culture and period of use; in china red is associated with happiness.
-Colour psychology: general idea that hot colours are stimulants, while cool colours are depresants. Hues of blue
are thought to have a high prefence in humans; colours preference may change depenat on ambient temperature;
Colour of environment can change opinion of colour on design.
-Absent of colour: Will the design still look good without colour or in other colours?
-Background colour: Will the design still look good on different backgrounds?
-Be aware of the technological limits of the design. For example, some colours are not reproducable
by a printer even though they look perfectly fine on a computer screen.
-"You get what you pay for."

Logo Design
“A logo is a graphic mark or emblem commonly used by commercial enterprises,
organizations and even individuals to aid and promote instant public recognition. Logos
are either purely graphic (symbols/icons) or are composed of the name of the
organization (a logotype or word mark).”

Mascot Design
“The term mascot – defined as a term for any person, animal, or object thought to bring
luck– colloquially (informally) includes anything used to represent a group with a
common public identity, such as a school, professional sports team, society, military unit,
or brand name. Mascots are also used as fictional spokespeople for consumer products,
such as the rabbit used in advertising and marketing for the General Mills brand of
breakfast cereal, Trix”

Embroidary Design
“Digitizing may also used in the field of apparel, where an image may be recreated with
the help of embroidery digitizing software tools and saved as embroidery machine code.
This machine code is fed into an embroidery machine and applied to the fabric.”

Design Q+A

Q: What is a Raster Image?

A: A raster image is a static image – it can not be modified nor scaled. It is commonly used due to the universal use of software and hardware which supports it – for example, the vast majority of consumer monitors are raster based and Internet Explorer supports Raster images, but not vector images – thus most websites use raster images.

Q:What is a vector Image?

A:A vector image can be modified and can be scaled. Printing companies typically prefer using vector images for printing purposes, and are widely used in both Two Dimensional and Three Dimensional graphic design.

Q: I want to learn photoshop and draw cool art:

A:Photoshop works by layers which means that each component(element) has its own layer and is stack ontop of each other - it is similiar to an animation film - you create many frames - but only display one frame. It is unique in this method of development and can be powerful for adding effects to existing images.

Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw are vector programs which components(elements) are made up of curves. You work on a single frame which is quiet different than Photoshop. Illustrator has some features which corel does not, but if you are looking for an easy to use and powerful program corel is currently the best one.

here are some photoshop tutorials.

Q: Is there free solutions to graphic design?
A: Sure, download a free graphic editor and do the work yourself.

free photo manipulation tools or vector graphic editors:

Get Paint
GIMP
Inkscape

Q: How do I get full 3D design?
A: If you are wishing to come up with full 3D design work, corel and Illustrator have their limitations - inwhich case you will have to move towards 3D Software. This type of software works similar to vector's curves but now in a 3D space.

Q: Explain 'Lossy compression algorithm'

A: To answer your question clearly, please read these two short excerpts:

1.Image Compression vs. Image Quality: Finding the Best Tradeoff "In order to make the most efficient use of images, it is important to match the spatial and color resolution of the image to the spatial and color resolution of the intended output device. For example, a typical computer screen has a spatial resolution of about 75 pixels per inch (also referred to as dots per inch or "dpi"), and color resolution of 24 bits per pixel. Printers, on the other hand, have much higher spatial resolution, anywhere from 300 dpi to as much as 9600 dpi horizontally by 2400 dpi vertically. Obviously, a high-quality printed image is going to be a lot bigger than the same size image displayed on a computer screen.

Image compression algorithms are designed to minimize image file size in order to speed up image data transmission. There are "lossless" algorithms, which have the property that all of the original information in the image can be recreated from the compressed image, and there are "lossy" algorithms, which sacrifice some of the original image information in order to compress the image further."
Source

2.Understanding how image compression works
"Lossy compression compresses a file so that when it's later decompressed, it appears to be the same. But it isn't. What happens is that some astoundingly brilliant algorithms delete data from the file in such a way that when the file is later reconstructed, you don't notice the deletions.

In an MP3, this means deleting the sounds the human ear can't hear. In photographs, this means deleting the variations in color and tone the human eye typically doesn't notice. By doing this sort of perceptual compression, developers are able to save a huge amount of additional storage."
